ABOUT ME

William Kruse is the General Counsel at Gallup, a global analytics and advice firm that helps leaders and organizations solve their most pressing problems. He oversees Gallup’s legal, compliance, and privacy functions and advises on strategic initiatives and partnerships.

Before joining Gallup, Mr. Kruse was the Deputy General Counsel for CFA Institute, the world’s largest association of investment professionals. He also previously served as the Chief Compliance Officer for Gallup and was a board member of Gallup’s government contracting subsidiary and the legal advisor to its Institutional Review Board.

Mr. Kruse has extensive experience in litigation, corporate governance, ethics and compliance, and intellectual property. He has litigated railroad and maritime disputes, as well as MDL litigation involving toxic torts, for a litigation firm based in St. Louis, Missouri. He has also authored and presented on various legal and business topics, including procurement, white collar and corporate crime, ethics and compliance, and business codes of conduct.

Mr. Kruse received his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Missouri and his juris doctor from Florida International University. He attended law school while serving on active duty in the United States Coast Guard, graduating seventh in his class. He is a member of the American Bar Association and has served as Chair of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Corporate Counsel Committee.
